NDIS Support Workers on the Gold Coast
Southport to Coolangatta. The Coast is not a suburb of Brisbane, so we only match you with a worker who already lives this side of the M1 — here is what that looks like.

Who we are
Keystone Community Care is a small NDIS support provider founded and run by Heidi Griffiths, working in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. When you call, you talk to Heidi — not a call centre. We keep the team small on purpose so the families we support know us by name and we know them the same way.
Straight up: we are not an NDIS-registered provider. That is why we work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, who can choose any provider. If your plan is NDIA-managed you need a registered provider, and we will tell you that on the first call rather than waste your time.
ABN 48 691 121 525. Every worker holds a current NDIS Worker Screening clearance and First Aid/CPR, and we carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Ask and we will show you the certificates.
Where on the Coast we work
The central coast, top to bottom. Not the hinterland — yet. Reading down the M1:
- North — Southport, Labrador, Parkwood, Ashmore. Gold Coast University Hospital, Australia Fair and the Broadwater are the usual landmarks in a week.
- Central — Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Waters, Robina, Varsity Lakes. Robina Hospital, the Town Centre and the light rail.
- South — Burleigh, Palm Beach, Tugun, Coolangatta, Kirra, and weeks that cross into Tweed Heads.
Nerang, Mudgeeraba, Coomera or Tamborine? Call and ask — sometimes it works, and we will tell you honestly if it does not.
Why the Coast is its own job
A reliable 8am in Southport is not a worker leaving Chermside at 7. GCUH appointments, Robina Hospital, a Saturday at Kirra, the school run in Varsity Lakes — these are local hours. If we cannot cover them from this corridor, we say so, and we would rather lose the booking than send someone who is late every week.
So we match you with a worker who already lives and drives your stretch of the Coast, on personality, skills and how you like to spend your days. One person, not a rotating roster. If it is not clicking, we change it — no loyalty test.
What support looks like here
The four things NDIS core supports pay for are help at home, getting out and about, transport, and everyday skills. On the Coast, that tends to be:
- Getting out. A beach walk at Burleigh, the markets, a swim, a quiet shop at Robina Town Centre or Australia Fair. If you want a team sport, say so — we know boccia well from our Redlands Rebels crew in Brisbane and will help you find a club and get there.
- Transport that makes the rest possible. A lift to GCUH or Robina Hospital and back, to work, to family in Tweed. On the Coast, transport is often the thing that unlocks everything else in the plan.
- Help at home. Morning routines, cooking, the house, medication reminders — the ordinary weeks that matter just as much as the big days.
- Everyday skills. Learning the tram, budgeting, cooking one new thing a week, building the confidence to do it without us.
How to check a provider is legit
There are people in this industry who should not be in it. Whether you choose us or someone else, ask for these five things before anyone starts. A good provider will not flinch.
- An ABN you can look up. Ours is 48 691 121 525 — check it on the ABN Lookup site. If a provider will not give you one, walk away.
- NDIS Worker Screening for every worker, plus a Blue Card where they work with children. Ask to see the clearance, and ask who tracks the expiry dates.
- Insurance. Public liability and professional indemnity. Ask for the certificate of currency.
- Rates against the price guide. Every provider must stay at or below the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. If the rates are not in writing, or are above the guide, that is your answer.
- A service agreement and a complaints pathway. One plain-English document that says what, when, how much and how to stop — and a way to complain that is not just "talk to us". Ours points to the NDIS Commission on our complaints page.
What it costs
At or below the NDIS price limits, always in writing before the first shift. No sign-up fee, no minimum hours, no lock-in. Self-managed: we invoice you and you claim it back through the portal. Plan-managed: we invoice your plan manager. The detail — cancellations, travel, invoices — is on our pricing page.
How it starts
- A ten-minute chat with Heidi — same or next business day. Call 0403 886 293 or send a message. Tell us the hospitals you use and what has not worked before.
- A free meet-and-greet with a worker who already covers your stretch of the Coast.
- A simple service agreement you can end any time.
- Support starts — usually within one to two weeks.
Not sure your plan type works with us? The one-minute check will tell you.
Questions people ask
Which parts of the Gold Coast do you cover?
The central coast: Southport and Labrador, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Mermaid Waters, Robina and Varsity Lakes, Burleigh, and down through Palm Beach and Tugun to Coolangatta. Not the hinterland yet — Nerang, Mudgeeraba and Tamborine are a maybe, so call and ask.
Are your Gold Coast workers actually based on the Coast?
Yes. A reliable 8am in Southport is not a worker leaving Brisbane at 7. We match you with someone who already lives and drives this stretch of the Coast. If we cannot cover your hours from here honestly, we say so.
Are you an NDIS-registered provider?
No — we are an unregistered provider. That is why we work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, who can choose any provider. NDIA-managed plans need a registered provider, and we will tell you so on the first call.
What does a support worker cost on the Gold Coast?
The same as anywhere in Queensland: at or below the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. You get our rate card in writing before the first shift. No sign-up fee, no minimum term, no lock-in.
My life crosses into Tweed Heads. Does that work?
Often, yes — Coolangatta, Kirra and Tweed are one week for a lot of people. Say so on the first call and we will tell you whether we can cover it properly rather than promise and miss.
