What it costs, and how the funding works
Price-guide rates, no sign-up fees, no lock-in, and a plain-English service agreement. Here is exactly how money works with Keystone.
The short version
- Rates: at or below the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits — the caps every provider must respect. Rates differ by time of day and day of week; you get ours in writing first.
- Fees: none. No joining fee, no admin fee, no minimum term.
- Lock-in: none. Change worker, pause or stop by telling us in writing.
- Who we can bill: self-managed and plan-managed participants. NDIA-managed plans need a registered provider, which we are not — we'll tell you plainly if that's you.
How the money moves
If you're self-managed
You are in charge of your own funding. After each fortnight (or the schedule we agree), we send you an itemised invoice showing the date, hours, support category and rate for each shift. You pay it and claim the amount back through the myplace portal. Keep the invoice — it's your record.
If you're plan-managed
We send the same itemised invoice to your plan manager, who pays us from your plan and keeps your budget tracking up to date. You'll still see every invoice if you want to — just ask.
Before anything starts
You'll have three things in your hands: our current rate card, a service agreement written in plain English (what we'll do, when, at what rate, how to change or stop), and the name of the support worker you'll be meeting first. Read them with a family member, plan manager or support coordinator — we're happy to sit down and go through them.
Cancellations and travel
Give as much notice as you can if you need to cancel; short-notice cancellations follow the standard NDIS rules and are set out in the service agreement. Provider travel is only claimed where the NDIS rules allow it and only if you've agreed to it in writing. Transport that is part of the support itself (driving you to an appointment) is simply support time.
Questions people ask
How much does a support worker cost with Keystone?
We charge at or below the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for the support category and time of day (weekday, evening, Saturday, Sunday, public holiday). We send our current rate card in writing before your first shift so there are no surprises.
Do I pay anything myself?
Not for funded supports. Your NDIS core budget pays for the support. If you are self-managed you pay our invoice and claim it back through the NDIS portal; if you are plan-managed we invoice your plan manager directly.
Is there a sign-up fee, minimum hours or lock-in contract?
No. There is no joining fee and no minimum term. You can change your support worker, pause, or end the service agreement by letting us know in writing.
What happens if I need to cancel a shift?
Give us as much notice as you can. Short-notice cancellations follow the standard NDIS rules and are written into your service agreement — we will explain them before you sign, not after.
Do you charge for travel?
Provider travel is claimed only where the NDIS rules allow it and only if it is in your service agreement. Transport that is part of your support (driving you somewhere) is billed as support time.
